Before posting a "Apply for Admin" thread, please read this following post as it will help you format your thread appropriately, so that it is clear and readable for us administrators to deal with.

The requirements and procedures down below have to be met and understood before you can apply as admin, any threads showing that player is incapable of these requirements and or not understanding the information, will be denied instantly.

  • Before applying make sure you have been an active member of our community. Reaching a 500 hours is the current requirement on our servers.
  • If you haven't yet, join our Steam Group over here: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/moonshade
  • Make sure you are familiar with all the server rules. Always check them on occasion in case changes have been made ever since.
  • This section of the forums is not for players who plan on being active, it is for players who are currently active and plan on staying active.
  • You will be given powers to enforce rules, players breaking any rules should be dealt with immediately correspondingly to the rules broken.
  • Be responsive, notice and listen for a call for an admin from players in need of help.
  • Do not abuse the powers to help yourself in the game.
  • Try to be as active as you can be. Time off is fine just let us know ahead of time in the Admin Only section of the forums by posting a thread giving us more details about your time off.
  • Don't be harsh with bans! Banning a player permanently or for months for breaking a rule is not a really good habit.

Follow the typical admin procedure:

1) Warn - Tell the player to stop doing whatever they are doing wrong i.e breaking a rule, explain the rules that have been broken to them and try to help them understand it so that they do not break it again.
2) Gag/Mute - If the player is being negative towards you after you have warned them, gag/mute them in order to silence them so that they can have time to cool down, just remember to ungag/unmute them after a certain period of time such as 2 minutes.
3) Kick - If the player continues to break rules after you have explained what they are doing is wrong, kick them in order to prevent any further damage if it's a serious matter.
4) Ban/Consult another admin - After they have been kicked and they come back and repeat their behaviour, contact a higher admin notifying them that you'll be banning them.
5) Contact Owner/Permban (if given permission) - If in fact they come back after the short ban and still repeat their negative behaviour, contact the owner.

Each case is different so you have to use some judgement too. Remember, we want as many people as possible to stay in the server. Simply kicking/banning someone may seem like a quick solution, but we would rather you solve the situation by warning and explaining to the players the rule(s) that they broke. This way, they don't repeat their mistake. An admin's job is to deal with possible issues that may come up in the server, and solve them. Not to pick the people causing problems and getting rid of them.

Some important information to take into consideration:
  • Make sure you have read the important information and have met the requirements above this part of the post.
  • Follow the format before submitting an application. Your application will be denied if it's not in the following format.

Example Admin Application:

In-Game Name: ioNx
Steam ID: STEAM_X:X:XXXXXXXX
Age: 17

Do you have a microphone and are you willing to use it? Yes I do have a microphone and I am willing to use it.

Days of the week you are available to play: I am able to play on Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

Current Hours In-Game on our server: 123

Time Zone + Location on planet Earth: GMT +0, England.

Past administrator experience, if any: My past administrator experience involves me being a honoured admin in multiple communities such as X and X. I was very active on their server and I have always enforced the rules on their servers to create a successful and rule-breaker-free environment for our players to enjoy playing on.

Why do you want to become an admin and why should we pick you over other applicants? I would like to become an admin on this server because I think I have what it takes, I have met all the requirements and understood all the important information above. I am a very active member of this community and I am familiar with the rules that have been set. I like helping other people out. I also have past RolePlay experience meaning I am very knowledgeable about this type of game mod so that I am able to help new players out if needed.
